Starting with the first phase of the ITS infrastructure project in 1997, Suwon has continuously expanded its intelligent transportation systems, culminating in the second phase expansion project in 2023, with a total investment of 63.239 billion KRW.
In 2018, Suwon revised its ITS Plan, laying the foundation for the advancement of intelligent transportation systems through 2027.

Suwon Integrated Safety Center
The Suwon City Urban Safety Integrated Center is a comprehensive management center established in May 2012 to ensure the safety of citizens by responding to disasters and accidents in Suwon. The center integrates and manages CCTV systems installed throughout the city, enabling real-time monitoring and rapid response to incidents and accidents. It also has a systematic response manual to address various disaster situations such as natural disasters, fires, and traffic accidents, positioning itself at the forefront of protecting citizens' lives and property.
The Urban Safety Integrated Center manages the city's safety network, covering traffic flow and pedestrian safety, ensuring comprehensive urban security. Through this system, it helps reduce traffic congestion and creates a safer environment for pedestrian movement. Additionally, by providing real-time traffic information and enhancing services, the center supports citizens in accessing transportation information more conveniently.
Furthermore, the center has adopted data analysis and big-data-based smart technologies to improve the efficiency of urban safety management. It is continuously strengthening infrastructure to respond swiftly to various emergency situations.
